Johnston Ridge Observatory

Located at the heart of the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, Johnston Ridge Observatory provides visitors with an up-close look at the surrounding volcanic blast zone. The plaza offers panoramic views, enhanced by interpretive signage and telescopes that allow for a closer examination of the lava flow area. Inside the observatory, guests can explore interpretative exhibits and watch theater presentations, which delve into the history and science of the volcano.
