Ubehebe Crater

Ubehebe Crater, one of Death Valley’s most distinct features, was formed by volcanic activity rather than a meteor impact. Located in the Ubehebe Craters volcanic field, this striking crater spans approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers) in width and plunges to a depth of 600 feet (183 meters). The area offers several moderate hiking routes, allowing visitors to explore the rugged terrain and experience the unique landscape up close.
