Originally the main post office in downtown Rio de Janeiro, the Centro Cultural Correios was built in 1922 and has since been transformed into a vibrant museum and cultural center. Administered by the Brazilian postal service, this historic building retains its original wooden floors, spiral staircases, and an antique elevator, showcasing its architectural beauty. Visitors can explore a variety of rotating exhibitions, from modern art and sculpture to world-famous paintings and ancient artifacts. The ground floor features a 200-person theater for plays and recitals, while the spacious courtyard outside hosts open-air concerts and events with a reflecting pool and outdoor stage.
