Originally developed by the French in 1868 to commemorate the establishment of the Indochina colony, the Reunification Palace, formerly known as Independence Palace, was rebuilt in the 1960s. Located in Ho Chi Minh City, this iconic structure is known in Vietnamese as Dinh Độc Lập or Dinh Thống Nhất. The palace gained historical significance on April 30, 1975, when it became the symbolic site of Saigon’s liberation by communist forces, marking the reunification of Vietnam. Today, visitors can explore its well-preserved interiors and learn about the pivotal moments in the country’s history.
