Myakka Canopy Walkway

Built in 2000, the Myakka Canopy Walkway in Sarasota was the first public treetop trail on the continent. This unique structure serves as both a tourist attraction and an outdoor research and education laboratory. The walkway features a 74-foot (22-meter) tower that offers panoramic views of the treetops, while a 100-foot (30-meter) walkway extends through the canopy, providing a closer look at the forest floor below. Visitors can experience the serene beauty of the treetops and gain a new perspective on the diverse ecosystem from this elevated vantage point.
