Camp 18 Logging Museum

Nestled on Highway 26 between Portland and Cannon Beach in the town of Elsie, the Camp 18 Logging Museum began as one man’s personal dream in the 1970s. This sprawling log cabin-style building, constructed from timber personally logged by its founder, a former logger and mill owner, now houses a restaurant and museum. A standout feature is the 85-foot-long log beam, claimed to be the largest ridgepole in the United States. Inside and around the building, visitors can explore an array of antique logging equipment, tools, and artifacts, providing a tangible connection to the region’s logging heritage. Nearby, the Camp 18 Loggers’ Memorial honors those who have lost their lives in the logging industry and offers additional exhibits.
