Harriet Tubman Home

Harriet Tubman, after escaping slavery, dedicated her life to helping other enslaved African Americans find freedom through the Underground Railroad. For over 50 years, she resided on a homestead in Auburn, New York. Today, the Harriet Tubman Home National Historic Park preserves her former residence, along with the adjacent Home for the Aged and the Thompson A.M.E. Zion Church. Visitors can explore these historic buildings, gaining insight into Tubman’s life and the significant role she played in American history.
