Bangalore Fort (Kempegowda’s Fort)

Built in 1537 by Kempe Gowda, the founder of Bangalore, the Bangalore Fort, also known as Kempegowda’s Fort, originally stood as a mud structure before being converted to stone in 1761. Captured by the British East India Company in 1791, the fort now retains only two bastions and one gate. Visitors can explore these remnants, stroll through the surrounding gardens, and visit the Ganesh temple within the grounds. The site offers a glimpse into the city’s rich historical past, blending architectural heritage with serene green spaces.
