Founded in 1838, Gandantegchinlen Monastery, also known as Gandan Khiid, stands as a classic Tibetan Buddhist monastery and one of the most significant religious sites in Mongolia. Located in Ulaanbaatar, the monastery was partially destroyed during the Communist era but was meticulously restored in the 1990s.
