Flowing just north of Hilo, Akaka Falls is a prominent natural wonder on the Big Island of Hawaii. Nestled within the lush, tropical jungle, the waterfall plunges 442 feet (135 meters) into a scenic gorge. The falls are easily accessible via a short, paved loop trail in Akaka Falls State Park. Visitors can enjoy the verdant surroundings and the dramatic sight of the water cascading down the cliff, making it a popular and picturesque destination.
