Old Bridge (Stari Most)

Arching gracefully over the Neretva River, the Old Bridge (Stari Most) stands as Mostar’s most photographed landmark and a significant example of Islamic architecture in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Originally constructed by the Ottomans in the 16th century, the bridge was tragically destroyed during the Croat-Bosniak War. Rebuilt in 2004, it now serves as a symbol of peace and reconciliation. The stone structure, listed as a UNESCO site, invites visitors to walk across its historic span, offering views of the river below and the charming old town on either side.
