Crowning a hill above Ankara, the Atatürk Mausoleum (Anıtkabir) is a modern mausoleum and complex built between 1944 and 1953 to house the tomb of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Türkiye, who died in 1938.
