Recogne German War Cemetery

Situated just north of Bastogne, the Recogne German War Cemetery serves as the final resting place for 6,807 German soldiers, the majority of whom lost their lives during the Battle of the Bulge. Initially, the site also held the remains of American soldiers, but in 1946, these were relocated to Henri-Chapelle Cemetery. Today, visitors can walk through the rows of somber, well-maintained graves, each marked with a simple stone, offering a poignant reminder of the human cost of war.
