The Panorama Museum, located in Salzburg, Austria, is connected to the main branch of the Salzburg Museum at the Neue Residenz via a subterranean tunnel. This underground passage includes a section of Roman wall adorned with murals and models depicting key moments in the city’s history. The museum’s centerpiece is a 26-meter (85-foot) diameter cyclorama, painted by Johann Michael Sattler in 1829. This circular painting offers a detailed and panoramic view of 19th-century Salzburg, showcasing its architecture and topography. Visitors can stand on a central platform, using telescopes and computer screens to explore and learn about various areas of the historic city.
