Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary

Encompassing 2,900 square miles of the Atlantic Ocean, the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary is a vast underwater haven located off the coast of Key West. This protected area is home to the world’s third-largest barrier reef, teeming with vibrant coral and an array of marine life, including over 6,000 species. Visitors can explore the sanctuary’s diverse ecosystems, from shallow seagrass beds to deep-water habitats.
