Rough Point

Rough Point, the southernmost estate on Newport’s famed Bellevue Avenue, was inherited by 20th-century heiress Doris Duke at the age of 12. This English-style manor overlooks the Cliff Walk Bridge and offers views of the Atlantic Ocean, where waves crash against the shore. Inside, visitors can explore the home as it was during Duke’s time, including a plant-filled glass solarium and a Great Hall adorned with tapestries. The formal gardens outside provide a serene setting, complementing the historic and elegant interior.
