Denali National Park and Preserve

Founded in 1917, Denali National Park and Preserve in south-central Alaska spans an impressive 6 million acres of remote alpine tundra. The park’s centerpiece is Denali, also known as Mt. McKinley, the tallest peak in North America, reaching 20,310 feet (6,190 meters) into the sky. This vast wilderness is a sanctuary for native animals, which roam freely across the rugged terrain. Visitors can experience the raw beauty of the landscape, from the towering mountains to the expansive tundra, and perhaps catch a glimpse of the diverse wildlife that calls this protected area home.
