In 1847, when Mormon pioneers led by Brigham Young arrived in the Salt Lake Valley, he declared, ‘Here we will build a temple to our God.’ This vision gave rise to Temple Square, located in the heart of Salt Lake City. The centerpiece of this site is the Salt Lake Temple, the largest Mormon temple in the world. Visitors today can explore the square’s well-manicured gardens and learn about the history and significance of the LDS Church through guided tours and exhibits.
