Lobos Island

Lobos Island, named after the ‘sea wolves’ or monk seals that once inhabited its shores, is a small, rocky island off the coast of Fuerteventura, Spain. Today, it stands as a protected nature reserve, teeming with diverse wildlife including various bird species and even sharks in the surrounding waters. The island features several beaches and well-marked hiking paths, allowing visitors to explore its rugged terrain. At the northern tip, the Punta Martiño Lighthouse stands as a solitary sentinel, adding to the island’s serene and untouched charm. A visitor center provides information about the island’s natural history and conservation efforts.
