When volcanic activity allows, hikers can embark on a challenging and exhilarating ascent, typically completed in one long and tiring day. The climb usually starts from either Pura Pasar Agung or the Mother Temple of Besakih, both significant cultural landmarks. Today, visitors who are permitted to climb can experience the physical and spiritual journey up this majestic peak, with its rugged terrain and panoramic views offering a unique and memorable adventure.
