Ijen Crater (Kawah Ijen)

Perched above the Ijen Plateau in East Java, the Ijen Crater (Kawah Ijen) is a striking natural wonder. The crater’s highly acidic lake is a source of sulfur for local miners, and at night, burning gases create an otherworldly blue glow.
