Submarine Vesikko

Submarine Vesikko, built in the early 1930s, served as a prototype for Germany’s Type II U-boats, which played a significant role in World War II. In 1935, Finland acquired Vesikko and later deployed it to defend against Soviet forces during the 1939 Winter War. Today, this historic submarine is moored in Helsinki and functions as a museum. Visitors can board and explore its interior, gaining insight into the cramped quarters and operational conditions of a wartime submarine.
