Royal Monastery of St. Mary of Pedralbes (Monestir de Pedralbes)

Originally constructed in 1326, the Royal Monastery of St. Mary of Pedralbes, or Monestir de Pedralbes, stands as one of Barcelona’s most striking examples of Catalan Gothic architecture and the oldest building in the Pedralbes quarter. The cloister has been meticulously reconstructed, offering a glimpse into its historical grandeur. Inside, the small but impressive chapel houses spectacular 14th-century Ferrer Bassa murals and the ornamental grave of Queen Elisenda, who once resided within the monastery. Today, visitors can explore this rich history and admire the intricate details that have been preserved over centuries.
