Budhanilkantha

On the northern edge of the Kathmandu Valley, Budhanilkantha is a small town renowned for its Budhanilkantha Temple. Within the temple grounds, a 16-foot (5-meter) reclining stone statue of Vishnu, the largest in Nepal, rests on a bed of water and stone snakes. This unique depiction of the god, lying down rather than standing, draws visitors to marvel at its intricate details and serene setting. Today, visitors can explore the temple, observe the impressive statue, and immerse themselves in the tranquil atmosphere.
