Nestled in the foothills of the Borneo Highlands, 62 miles (100 kilometers) south of Kuching, Annah Rais is a Bidayuh longhouse settlement that offers a glimpse into traditional communal living. The well-maintained longhouse architecture, with its distinctive wooden structures and thatched roofs, provides a tangible connection to the past. Visitors can explore the settlement, which is home to around 500 residents who now largely support themselves through tourism.
