Lake Ashi, also known as Ashi-no-ko, formed 3,000 years ago during the last eruption of Mt. Fuji and is a scenic spot within Hakone National Park. Nestled at the foot of Mt. Hakone, the lake is considered sacred by the Japanese and is home to the renowned Hakone Shrine, a significant Shinto site. Visitors can explore the shrine, take a boat ride on the serene waters, or hike the numerous trails that wind through the surrounding landscape, offering a blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage.
