Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib

Nestled in the heart of Old Delhi’s Chandni Chowk, Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib stands as a significant Sikh temple, built to commemorate Guru Tegh Bahadur. The guru was beheaded here by Emperor Aurangzeb for refusing to convert to Islam. The gurudwara’s serene complex houses the trunk of the tree under which the execution took place, adding a poignant layer to its historical significance. Visitors can explore the site, reflect on its rich history, and participate in the daily prayers and community kitchen, known as langar, where meals are served to all, regardless of background.
