Lake Nasser (Lake Nubia)

Lake Nasser, one of the world’s largest artificial lakes, was created when the Aswan High Dam harnessed the Nile, flooding approximately 2,027 square miles (5,250 square kilometers) of desert. Spanning a vast expanse, the majority of the lake lies within Egypt, while a smaller portion extends into Sudan, where it is known as Lake Nubia.
