Buga

Founded in 1555 under the order of Sebastián de Belalcázar, Guadalajara de Buga, or simply Buga, is one of Colombia’s oldest cities. Located near Cali, this historic town draws over three million pilgrims annually, many of whom come to visit the salmon-pink Basilica of the Lord of Miracles. The basilica houses a crucifix that, according to local legend, grew from a small statue to its current life-size form without any human intervention. Visitors today can explore the basilica and immerse themselves in the rich history and spiritual significance of this revered site.
