Thompson River

The Thompson River, a 300-mile (490-kilometer) tributary of the Fraser River, is one of British Columbia’s major waterways and a vital source of Pacific salmon. Originating from its north and south branches, the river converges in the town of Kamloops. From there, it meanders gently westward before narrowing and rushing through a scenic, steep-walled canyon. Visitors can experience the river’s natural beauty, observe the abundant wildlife, and enjoy activities such as fishing and rafting along its diverse and picturesque course.
