Royal Enclosure (Royal Palace)

For about 500 years, a wooden palace stood near the center of Angkor Thom, the former capital of the Angkor Empire. Today, visitors can explore the Royal Enclosure, a large walled area that marks the site of the former royal residence. Within its walls, two bathing pools and the Phimeanakas, a small pyramid temple, stand as the main highlights. These structures offer a glimpse into the daily life and spiritual practices of the Khmer royalty.
