Moorilla Winery, founded in 1960 by Italian immigrant Claudio Alcorso, was one of the first wineries to be established on Tasmania. Nestled north of Hobart, the winery was acquired in 1995 by David Walsh, a gambler and art collector renowned for founding the Museum of Old and New Art (Mona), which shares the same property. Visitors today can explore the lush vineyards and enjoy a range of wines, while also experiencing the unique blend of art and viticulture that defines this distinctive Tasmanian destination.
