Nestled within the Andong Dam Folk Village, the Andong Folk Museum is a repository of traditional folk cultures from the Andong region, offering insights into daily life from births to funerals. The museum highlights the region’s Buddhist and Confucian influences, showcasing rituals such as the Confucian coming-of-age ceremony, Gwanrye, and jerye, a ceremony to honor ancestors. Visitors can explore over 20 perfectly-preserved thatched-roof hanok houses in the outdoor section, providing a tangible connection to the past. These exhibits and structures allow visitors to experience the customs and traditions that have shaped the region’s cultural heritage.
