Nestled in the remote Sierra Tarahumara Mountains of northwestern Mexico, the UNESCO-listed Copper Canyon, or Barrancas del Cobre, spans an area larger than the Grand Canyon in the United States. Despite its size, it remains a less frequented destination. The canyon’s rugged terrain is crisscrossed with footpaths, offering hikers a chance to explore its depths. However, the main way to traverse this vast landscape is via the Chihuahua al Pacifico Railway, known as El Chepe, which provides a scenic and accessible route through the region.
