Jardin de Balata, a botanical garden in Martinique, was created by the poet and horticulturalist Jean-Philippe Thoze. Inspired by his childhood memories and the island’s natural beauty, Thoze designed the garden to showcase the region’s lush flora. At the heart of the garden stands a traditional Creole house, offering visitors panoramic views of the ocean, dense jungle, and towering palm trees. Today, visitors can explore the carefully curated pathways, immersing themselves in the vibrant colors and textures of the tropical plants and enjoying the serene ambiance of this thoughtfully designed space.
