Malta Maritime Museum

Housed in a former naval bakery in Vittoriosa, the Malta Maritime Museum showcases the island’s rich maritime history and its connection to the surrounding seas. The museum’s extensive collection of over 20,000 artifacts includes the world’s largest Roman anchor, Napoleonic battleship parts, and more than 60 traditional Maltese boats. This diverse array of exhibits not only highlights Maltese maritime history but also contextualizes the global significance of seafaring through the ages. As new artifacts are continually discovered and added, the museum offers fresh insights with each visit.
